Its headquarters are located in Santa Clarita, California (a northern suburb of Los Angeles). The company occupies ten-plus acres of production, chassis storage and administrative space. Its designated manufacturing space is approximately 100,000 square feet. Marathon's main business is the manufacturing, assembling, installing and repairing truck bodies, trailers and transportation equipment of various kinds and design. COMPANY OFFICERS
Mr. R. Hess, the company's Chairman, has over thirty five years of transportation industry experience. Mr. Hess' industry background includes Transportation Operations Director of G. D. Searle Pharmaceutical Company - Chicago (a Fortune 500 corporation) responsible for an international fleet of some 5,000 units; General Manager PruLease - Boston (Prudential Insurance/Financial) 100,000. units under lease; and as Divisional CEO of ARA Transportation, the largest School bus operating company in the world (ARA Transportation/20,000 units). He received his MBA from Roosevelt University, Chicago, and served for many years on the board of the National Association of Fleet Administrators. He is also the author and publisher of Yellow School Bus Book, the industry standard for school bus residual values.
Mr. Chad Hess is Marathon's President and CEO. He received his MBA from California State University, Northridge and his BS from University of California, Riverside. He is responsible for managing Marathon on a day to day basis. He has over 10 years of diverse management experience in truck body manufacturing operations and financial control.
Mr. B. Berro is Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing He has extensive experience in the transportation industry ranging over the last 30 years. In addition to being part of establishment of Marathon, Mr. Berro held management and marketing positions with: Detroit Diesel, Navistar and ARA Transportation. His responsibilities include marketing and customer relations.
Mr. T. Garcia is Vice President of Sales. He has over 20 years of experience in the design, marketing and repair of truck bodies. Mr. Garcia has held senior positions at the distributor, parts, and manufacturer levels of the truck body industry. He has a well respected name in the truck body industry.
Mr. J. Berg is Marathon's Vice President, (Chief Operating Officer). He is responsible for production, plant operations, purchasing and Marathon's service division. He received his MBA from Portland State University. He has over 30 years of relative industry experience including management positions with Ryder Truck Rental and Mc Donnell Douglas Truck services. He also has served as President of Industrial Service Corp. a truck/transportation service and repair provider.
All of Marathon employees are dedicated to helping its customers solve their transportation problems, effectively and professionally.
IN GENERAL
Marathon is financially sound. Ford Motor Credit reviews Marathon's financial situation annually and issues a multi million dollar credit line to the company. The company maintains all of the proper insurance coverage and government environmental compliance certification.
